9:00 A.M. Niagara Falls
This will be my first attempt to start my computer and more importantly, my first cup of coffee. I will dedicate the early part of the morning to reviewing emails, checking my To Do list, updating my calendar, and connecting with the team.
10:00 A.M. A Midmorning Checkin
At this point, all technological battles have been fought and won (hopefully) and I will be halfway through the second cup of coffee. For the next 14 weeks, Jill will be educating the Family Support Team in the Incredible Years parenting curriculum so we can understand the perspective of parents when teaching our own groups in the future. It’s so much fun listening to stories of team members with their kids!
12:00 P.M. Financial Literacy Group Planning
After the Incredible Years training, Wasa and I jump straight into a 1 on 1 meeting to plan the finishing touches for the Financial Literacy group this evening. She’s the best! And also, I drink a third cup of coffee.
1:00 P.M. Buffalo Office
I travel to the Buffalo office to compile the materials and supplies needed for the Financial Literacy group. I love the views of the water on this drive. While on the road, I got to have at least one more cup of coffee.
4:30 P.M. Ready For Group!
All of the teaching materials are prepared for the Financial Literacy group later this evening. We will be using fake money in our lesson today, I break out our stash of fake money and organize it for later. I am getting excited for the class! I have just time to head home for a quick break before the group session starts.
6:00 P.M. Financial Literacy's In Session
Our Financial Literacy group gets started. We are introducing forms of income, banking, and taxes. There is lots of laughter as we role play cashing a check and learn the names of the different coins. They are an amazing group! I am grateful to the team for helping to prepare for session. And, of course,I did drink one final cup of coffee for good luck.
