Coordinated Entry Program

In alignment with JFS’ mission and values, we are undertaking a new program, funded by The City of New York, to provide coordinated entry services to the 539 asylum seekers who are currently living in hotels here in Erie County.

The goal of this program is to move eligible asylum seekers out of the three hotels, two in Cheektowaga and one in Amherst, and into more permanent housing while helping them better assimilate into their new communities.

Ways to Support

JFS welcomes the community’s involvement in support of our work to support this project. Here’s how you can get involved:

There are several ways for volunteers to support this project. We are currently recruiting volunteers to assist with:
• Home Set-Up Teams
• Volunteer Movers
• Donation Processing and Sorting

We are in need of donated household items to furnish apartments for migrant families.

To coordinate a donation drive or to arrange to drop off donated goods, please contact David Janowiak, Donations Coordinator, at djankowiak@jfswny.org and (716) 697-5484.

Donate Funds

We also welcome donations to our Family Support Fund which provides direct support to our clients when other resources are unavailable.
